Nine Months

Image
Wow, nine months have passed since my life changing trip half way around the world to Mumbai, India. In this time, the bind Elliott and I have developed is heart warming. He is my world, the good, the bad, and the ugly, I wouldn't change a thing. We have spent the summer learning all sorts of new things. I am proud to say my baby can identify the entire alphabet, numbers 1-10, all his colors and about 6 shapes. We have been working hard. He even started a summer school, pre school program. We are working hard to get his speech where it needs to be. It is definitely slow but I know his vocabulary will soar any day now. We spent a week in Buffalo with my parents which was wonderful. Elliott's favorite thing was my dad's boat. Now he regularly asks to go on a boat. We also got to meet our newest family member, my brothers baby Eleanor. Elliott was a tad jealous but I know they will be life long friends. All along we have been calling my dad Grandpa. In the car one day, Elli...

Birthday Boy

My baby turned three today, the first thing I did was wake up and pray for his birth mom. I know she loved him so. I would not be a mom if she didn't have the strength to give him a better life. We went to the zoo and saw flamingos, penguins, zebras, giraffes, and elephants. The elephants were defining his favorite. It was a perfect day with a perfect little man. Since his birthday was in a Monday, I made chocolate cupcakes for his daycare. I'm told he loved them. I got home from work and made Indian food, which he wouldn't eat. He got a singing Mickey Mouse stuffed animal which he loved. His favorite gift was the signing cards from Gigi and Grandpa. Several family members tried to face time but two days with no naps equal one cranky, overtired boy. I put him down and he was a deep by 6:30. I then write him a letter like I did last year and will continue to do for years to come.  My Elliott is three and and as much as I want him to stay young forever, I can't w...

Five Months Home

Image
Life has been more than busy being a single mom who is back to work full-time. It is more work than I thought it would be.  I was so looking forward to spring break because we were going to the beach for a couple of nights. Elliotts first encounter with the ocean was more than I could've ever hoped for. It only took him about five minutes to discover that he absolutely loved playing in it. He didn't care that it was freezing water and that his mother was freezing. He played in it for hours. I am truly blessed for how laid-back he is. He is go with the flow. But don't get me wrong my little man is extremely active. He loves to be on the go and know he does get grumpy from lack of sleep, he would be on the go all day and night if I let him. I cannot believe he has only been with me five months. He has adapted so well and it is like we have been together forever. My baby boy holds my entire heart and I know that he always will.  Current weight: 24 lbs. 12 oz. Current heigh...

Three Months

Image
I always hated when I got attached to a blog and the child came home and then the blog just kind of fizzled out. I was said I would not be one of those bloggers but lo and behold it seems I was wrong. When I have a moment to myself writing on the computer the last thing I have on my mind. It is been three months since my Elliott fell into my arms and they are the best three months of my life. He is still that happy, easy-going little guy that he was when I first got him. I really cannot ask for a better child. Don't get me wrong he has his moments… His tantrums… His naughtiness but overall he really is a good baby. We joined a local children's museum and that really is one of Elliott's favorite things to do. I cannot wait until the weather gets warmer so we can go on longer walks and play at the playground even longer. Christmas For Christmas we traveled to my parents house in Buffalo New York. I even bought Elliott a really cute snowsuit but Buffalo was having a heat w...
