Okay you might want to sit down relax and make some popcorn because this is going to be a long post, but it will be well worth it I promise. I started this adoption process June 2012. I was told since I was going to special-needs route, I could have a child home within a year. That proved to be false. In December 2013 with no child in sight, I started to become very down and out. I cried out to God and ask him to heal me and to show me what his path for me was. I belong to a few site specific to adoption with the country I have chosen. There is one specifically with less than 10 members all who are waiting for referrals. These girls have and continue to support and pray for me they in and day out. One of them who has now become my dear friend, posted that there were several cute children who are waiting for families. She showed me a picture of a little boy with curly hair, the date was January 6th. My heart started beating fast, I could not look away, I began to get very anxious. ...
To my close friends and family, it is no new news that this school year has been a trying one. It seems that since I started back in late August, things were not going my way. Between several adoption road blocks, I have had a situation with a parent where God was called upon more often than not. This situation almost caused health problems. It was not until I chose to give it to God, that I learned to live with it. It is bewildering to me that their our people that do not believe in God. How do they get up and face their days? I have 28 fourth graders, 28 opinionated, energetic, amazing fourth graders. I can't believe we only have 2 more days together. Today we had field day, while other classes where running around misbehaving, my kiddos were having organized fun. What a bond we sha...

By the way, that is not a typo, there are hundreds of millions of orphans in this world. While I love that this day brings awareness to families about adoption, it is bittersweet to me. I have been waiting for over a year for an orphan to call my child. One orphan, that is all I pray for. There is no doubting this process is difficult, I have shared that many times over. Over this past year, I have seen everyone in my adoption world have some progress. Everyone but me, and my sweet friend Amanda. We are stuck before we are even given the chance for a referral. Today I want to humbly as all of you for prayers. Let's storm the gates of Heaven for God to make me a mother. I will be honest and share that I am very broken inside. Unlike the majority of the adoption world, I am single and have no children. I am not distracted by the day to day life of my family. Today...
